WASHINGTON CADASTRAL FRAMEWORK PARTNERS AND POTENTIAL NEW PARTNERS - URGENT REQUEST
March 4, 1998
The current Cadastral Framework Project, or Phase 1, involves requirement collection and data development of the initial Cadastral Framework for Washington and the subsequent distribution of that framework data to the framework partners. Phase 1 development is partially funded by the 1997-98 FGDC Grant for $65,000. Matching funds from, non-federal sources, are required for that grant. In-kind contributions can and will be counted in those matching funds.
We are currently applying for a 1998-99 FGDC grant for $100,000 to help fund the development of the maintenance environment for updates and further data integration to the framework data developed in Phase 1. The application is due next Thursday, March 12th. To help with the success of this grant request, letters of commitment from framework partners are needed. These letters should indicate the in-kind services or dollars that could be contributed to the effort in Phase 2 (the commitments indicated in these letters will be non-binding as circumstances may change). It would also be helpful to indicate an overview of your particular organization's interest in the cadastral framework and how it will be beneficial.
These letters of commitment are needed here at DNR by next Wednesday, March 11th at 5:00 p.m. With this FAX, there is a generic form that will be easy to fill out and fax back to me if you feel you do not have time to write a letter. However, an actual letter would probably carry more weight in the grant review process. I will be contacting each of you by phone in the next 3-4 business days to discuss current Phase 1 issues and Phase 2 development. I would have preferred to have had the chance to do that before this request was sent out. I apologize for the timing and the short response time. Letters of commitment for Phase 2 can be faxed, mailed, or e-mailed to:
