A new GIS Data Catalog on the WA Geospatial Portal website was launched. It takes our states data listings from 175 to over 375 which represents a 120% increase in the number of spatial data sets that are now discoverable by other spatial data consumers.

Washington State GIS Program Office is established within the Office of the CIO. The primary role will be to provide enterprise-wide leadership, governance, policy direction and standards oversight in Washington state government. The creation of the GIS Program Office formalizes the activity in response to the growing utilization and need for geospatial information for all areas of government.
