Orthoimagery of the state of Washington
This orthoimagery of Washington was prepared from aerial photographs and other data, creating the same metric properties and uniform scale as a map. Washington State agencies can build on this foundation by adding their own detail, by compiling other value-added data sets and information.

  • The Imagery
    The National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) 2006 imagery was collected using a film based aerial mapping camera. Aerial photography was collected at a scale of 1:40,000 and images were spotted at the center of US Geological Survey quarter-quadrangles.

NAIP, a cooperative program between federal agencies, provides orthoimagery of agricultural lands. The major product of this program is 1-meter resolution orthoimagery that is produced and provided to crop compliance field staff.

NAIP plans to fly the state of Washington in 2009 and produce statewide coverage if organizations within the state agree to participate and provide additional funding. More...
